Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging is a valuable tool when evaluating injuries or problems in joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to generate real-time images so our radiologists can see the structure and movement of the muscles and tissues. The exam is safe and painless. Here are just a few of the reasons your doctor might request a musculoskeletal ultrasound:

  • Tendon tears or tendinitis
  • Ligament sprains or tears
  • Muscle tears
  • Joint inflammation
  • Soft tissue tumors
  • Hernias

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound exams are available at the following Advanced Radiology locations
